Maine Views - Inside and out: Amy Brnger
Amy Brnger has a deep affection for her home in Maine, both inside and outside. Everyday activities are meaningful to Amy, whether it’s cooking in her kitchen, looking out the windows, gardening, shoveling snow, or walking the neighborhood. She draws a lot of inspiration from these ordinary experiences in her domestic world and suspects many people can relate to this. While Amy enjoys traveling and seeing places far away, she has always loved returning home most of all. When she's not painting in and around her home environment, she also goes out and paints in some pretty special places in this beautiful state. From a local land trust flower garden farm to spots on Mount Desert Island, Amy paints both the landscape outside, but also returns home with abundant flowers and paints them in the studio, often within the confines of an interior or including a view of her neighbors’ yard ...
