Rett Sturman
Rett Sturman is an American Postwar & Contemporary painter who was born in 1946. His paintings contain architectural elements while focusing on natural light, capturing shadows and surrounding shapes. Sturman does not have any set formulas for paintings but loves to be surprised by what he finds. “Half of painting is exploring, putting myself in the right place at the right time. Light and color can be magical if you are there and aware at the right time. Or really dead and boring at others. I love to be surprised visually, and it happens all the time. Then it’s a matter of figuring how to catch it.” Rett Sturman
Sturman is a Graduate from the School of Fine Arts, University of Pennsylvania with a master's in architecture. University of Pennsylvania, Bachelor of Arts in art history and fine arts. Sturman has studied with Neil Welliver, Rackstraw Downes, and George Nick
